Grandfather woodbox

Here is a picture of a wood box that was donated to me by my grandfather more than 30 years ago.

I have used it since then to keep my extra oil color tubes in it, some of which believe or not are more than 30 years old and still like new. Back than I had painted the lid to experiment as I was starting to learn. Canvas frames were not easy to afford and I’d paint on anything I could recycle. For several years I kept a few extra color tubes here and a bottle of linseed oil from Maimeri. I also kept a smaller painting palette here that was just a small wood board (about 3 x 5 inches). I still have it, but I no longer use it.

The box is very strong and withstood the test of time pretty well I have to say. I’m planning to keep using for many years to come.
